Care for the Strays

Every Island we sail to we come across sick, stray and injured animals – it breaks our hearts to not be able to help, especially as both our own boat-cats Ronnie and Smidge were saved from a life on the streets.

Some of you may already know that whenever we can we rescue stray kittens and transport them to local sanctuaries; but the problem here in Greece is they need more help and attention than just food and shelter – the animals – who’s population numbers are out of control – are left to starve each winter when the tourist season ends every summer.

We do our best as a family to feed the stray cats but TNR programs are desperately needed and vet bills mount up for local charities.

Our goal is to take your donations and give to a charity on each island we visit.

Each time we do so we will take a photograph and post it on our social media alongside information about the charity and how their donation will help the animals. We will also add some of the stories, below.
